A student victim of an exhibitionist who masturbated in front of her in broad daylight in downtown Montreal lamented in court this Friday that people are so keen to expose themselves to others, without their consent.

Young had tried to challenge the version of the plaintiff, who was unsure whether he was circumcised or not, but her defense had failed.
“What remains is that she saw a penis. The fact that she cannot describe its characteristics in detail or that she was mistaken regarding it, this contradiction […] has no impact on the reliability of the testimony”, noted the magistrate.

One of the victims said that this event “disturbed” her, given that she had been exposed to genitals without her consent. And the stress continued during the legal process, among other things when it came time for her to testify.
“I was asked regarding his size, I said he had a small one, she testified this Friday. It stressed me out for my safety, because I understand it can be frustrating.”
The young woman also expressed fears for her safety when she walked around the neighborhood, fearing that people would attack her.
“I thought regarding it a lot, the whole thing took a lot of energy,” she said.
But his efforts have not been in vain, as Young is now at risk of having a criminal record. He will return to court in June, for oral arguments on the sentence to be imposed on him.
Arrested in the hallway of the courthouse, Young declined to comment on the case.
