Montreal Canadiens Forward Juraj Slafkovsky: Quietly Developing and Praised by Cole Caufield

With seven points in 22 games, Montreal Canadiens forward Juraj Slafkovsky seems to be developing quite quietly. However, his line partner, Wednesday night once morest the Columbus Blue Jackets, Cole Caufield, had only good words to say regarding the young Slovak.

“He’s been playing well recently,” said little number 22 following his team’s 4-2 victory. He’s finding his confidence and you can see he’s calmer with the puck. He worked on that. He must continue to grow and we are proud of him.

Caufield particularly praised the Slovak for his communication on and off the ice.

“The more you play with someone, the easier it gets,” Caufield continued. Communication on the bench and between periods is improving. He’s young and he’ll always have things to work on. I like the direction his game is going and he’s fun to play with.

“I would tell him to shoot a little more. I don’t mind shooting. (…) He will learn with experience. He is a good player, but it will take him time.

Caufield didn’t have a bad game with a goal, which he achieved by taking a return shot from Christian Dvorak. Slafkovsky also collected an assist on the play, his fifth of the season. The CH striker, however, looked very bad on the Jackets’ first goal, that of Patrik Laine.

The Habs will not have time to be idle as they will face the Florida Panthers on Thursday evening at the Bell Centre.
