HAMILTON – Quebecer Marc-Antoine Dequoy had trouble containing his emotions on Sunday evening following the Montreal Alouettes’ triumph in the Gray Cup final.
“The Gray Cup is back in Quebec,” he told Journal, singing, during the celebrations in the locker room. I am so happy!”

Smoking a cigar with his teammate Alexandre Gagné, he still took care to apologize for his emotional remarks made on television in a post-match interview.
“I lost my temper a little earlier in a television interview,” he admitted. I’m sorry for that, but we’re still bringing the cup back to Quebec.”

“They never believed in us,” Dequoy said, hotly, at the RDS microphone, his voice raspy with tears of joy. You look everywhere, it’s written in English. I put on the TSN guide, it said Toronto once morest Winnipeg.

The posters in the stadium in Hamilton actually featured the English-speaking Gray Cup logo. The television guide also predicted for Sunday, until very late in the week, a duel between the Toronto Argonauts and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. The information had obviously been scheduled before the result of the Eastern final.
Victory speech just as epic as the Alouettes’ victory in this unilingual English Gray Cup.

“They never believed in us, but you know what, keep your English because we’re going to take this cup and we’re going to bring it back to Montreal,” added Dequoy. We’re going to bring it back to Quebec because we’re fucking champions!”
The resilience of the Alouettes
Gagné, nicknamed Captain Quebec, spoke of the team’s resilience.
“It’s the resilience of this team, throughout the season, we had ups and downs. Again this evening (Sunday), before halftime, we were not able to get into the end zone and that is crucial in a game. We talked together, we corrected the situation and we came back with momentum. It’s a reflection of our season.”
