Montenegro decided to close the sky for the plane of Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, as it was required by its obligations in connection with the imposed sanctions, said Foreign Minister Ranko Krivokapic.
“Montenegro, by banning the overflight of the plane of the head of Russian diplomacy, Sergei Lavrov, has fulfilled the obligations that it has assumed,” he said on the air of the country’s national television.
According to him, such a decision was inevitable. He also noted that Lavrov could have traveled to Serbia by train, because the railway connection is open.
Earlier it was reported that Lavrov’s plane was denied entry into the airspace of the countries that surround Serbia.
