Jérôme Bosviel had a heavy heart following the defeat of Montauban against Dax. Despite his nineteen points scored, and a 100% against the poles, the Montalbanese flyhalf could do nothing to prevent the defeat of the USM against the promoted Landes. After a sixth defeat in a row, Montauban is currently penultimate, three points behind Biarritz, twelfth. Questioned at the Canal + microphone a few minutes after the final whistle, Jérôme Bosviel did not mince his words. “We took a big blow to the head, after a match like that, we have nothing to do in Pro D2. If we don’t open our eyes, we might as well go directly to the National, it’s a great championship! But we have six games left, we’re going to fight and I’m going to fight.”
The 24th day of Pro D2 ends this Friday with several close matches. Dax notably got the better of Montauban after a meeting full of twists and turns while Rouen missed the penalty to win against Agen.

An insane schedule
After this new setback, the Montalbanais will have to raise their heads and transcend themselves against the contenders for the top 6. Because in the last six remaining matches, USM will only face candidates in the final stages, including a trip to Provence Rugby on the next day. Currently fifteenth, Pierre-Philippe Lafond’s men will have to hang on until the end so as not to finish penultimate and thus play a play-off match against the National finalist.
