Montana Tech sells more but earns less over nine months

Zurich (awp) – The industrial group Montana Tech saw its turnover grow at a steady pace in the first nine months of the current financial year, but profitability suffered due to tensions in the raw materials market and energy prices.

Between January and September, sales increased by 26.7% to 1.75 billion euros (1.72 billion Swiss francs), wrote the Aargau group on Thursday in its quarterly report. The activity of the Aluflexpack division was particularly buoyant, and the company benefited from the recovery at work in aeronautics. Finally, the Montana Aerospace division won new market shares.

On the other hand, Ebitda operating income contracted by 22.9% to 179.9 million euros, for a related margin of 10.2%, once morest 16.8% over the same period in 2021. This decline is explained by the tense situation in the commodity market and the increase in energy prices, writes Montana Tech. In addition, several projects of the Varta division have been delayed.

The improvement in the results of Aluflexpack and Montana Tech was not enough to compensate for this negative effect, further specifies the company.

Montana Tech confirms its goals for the current fiscal year, with the exception of those of Aluflexpo, which the separately listed division has already raised.
