“Monster Hunter” x “Transformers”! Tomy SYNERGENEX’s new series previews Spider-Man and Godzilla’s dream collaboration | 4Gamers

Japan’s toy giant Takara Tomy, known for its high-quality toy line T-SPARK, has announced the launch of a new “SYNERGENEX” product series. The aim is to partner with several major intellectual properties (IPs) to generate synergistic effects, create unexpected combinations, and enhance gameplay.

SYNERGENEX will debut at Japan’s largest event, the “Tokyo Toy Show 2024” (東京おもちゃショー2024), taking place from August 29th to September 1st. The first trailer highlights collaborations with notable franchises such as “Godzilla,” “Monster Hunter,” and “Mobile Police Patlabor.”

The initial trailer unveiled that Tomy’s signature products—transforming robots “Transformers,” automatic beast assembly “ZOIDS,” and original sci-fi toys “Diaclone”—will come together to jointly introduce “SHIELD,” which is expected to launch in 2025.

Additionally, to celebrate the 70th anniversary of “Godzilla,” the King of Special Effects Monsters, and the 40th anniversary of “Transformers,” the two franchises will collaborate to release “Mekadon Type Godzilla” (メガトロンTypeゴジラ) and “Optimus Prime Type 3 Machine Dragon” (オプティマプライムType３式机龙), which are anticipated to be available for pre-order in November 2024.

“ZOIDS” will also collaborate with Marvel’s “Spider-Man,” developing products based on the theme of “Amazing Spider-Man and Spider Metal Lifeforms protecting New York City together!” Two types of Spider-Man dolls and movable spider-monster ZOIDS, “SPIDER ZOIDS SPIDER-MAN special” and “SPIDER ZOIDS BLACK SPIDERMAN special,” will be available for pre-order in early September 2024.

Other large-scale collaborations have not yet officially announced detailed product information, but they are anticipated to be unveiled after 2025. These include collaborations between “ZOIDS” and the anime “Mobile Police Patlabor,” “ZOIDS” and “Transformers,” and “ZOIDS” and “Monster Hunter.” Among these, the most anticipated is the collaboration celebrating the 40th anniversary of “Transformers” alongside the 20th anniversary of “Monster Hunter,” generating excitement for more thrilling cross-border creations.
