The hunt resumes on Monster Hunter Rise
One of Capcom’s darlings is back in service! Even following having enjoyed the heyday of the Japanese publisher’s finances, Monster Hunter Rise still has its word to say and this one is none other than “Sunbreak”! The extension, which has come up time and time once more in recent weeks, whether during the showcase organized by the editor himself or during the Nintendo Direct mini broadcast by its counterpart in Kyoto last Tuesday, signed today its big launch on the Switch and on PC.
To mark the occasion, Capcom had also decided to promote this extension by deploying a fairly substantial new demo so that players can grasp the full extent of this unprecedented adventure! Old creatures, new monsters, new region, additional skills and abilities, … Sunbreak didn’t happen not shown to be stingy in terms of contentand that’s why players have largely responded to the call for its global launch!
Almost 200,000 hunters for the launch of Sunbreak
Before being able to follow in real time the prowess of Monster Hunter Rise on PC, we had to take a look at the sales of the title on Nintendo’s hybrid console. Already at that time, the exclusivity Nintendo Switch wreaked havoc and won all the votes. A few months later, the launch on PC had indeed confirmed this enormous popularity of the Monster Hunter license with a start at more than 134,262 players! However, as a real steamroller, the title was not going to stop there and the extension intended to push the limits of the initial adventure, but also the general enthusiasm around the game.
While attendance scores showed a steady solid since release on PC — lately, the title brought together 70,000 players at peak times and 20,000 during the lowest periods —, the global launch of Sunbreak came to blow it all up! We notice that today the game is at the peak of its popularity with a peak of 194,459 registered players on Steam. Undoubtedly, the figures on Nintendo Switch must have been at least as big!
