Finance Minister Vincent Van Peteghem had proposed it and the decision was finally adopted. Since July 1, in all Belgian businesses, customers will have to be able to pay electronically. This new law which entered into force in Belgium on Friday is a change that risks destabilizing those who still use cash a lotsince the “cash only” boxes will soon no longer be accessible!

We do not yet know how many businesses still do not accept electronic payments, but with this new measure in force, the minister wants above all to reduce fraud in certain sectors. In the event of non-compliance with this new law, businesses are liable to fines of up to 10,000 euros.
