When a person is infected with the monkeypox virus, precautionary measures include:

Pending additional data on the sensitivity and receptivity of pets, the greatest vigilance is recommended for veterinarians receiving for consultation animals whose owner is symptomatic. This will make it possible to detect possible early signs of the virus passing from humans to animals. This will require organizing a monitoring program involving field veterinarians.
