Four pharmacies will be authorized to vaccinate once morest monkeypox from Wednesday August 10 in France, according to information from France infocollected from the Minister of Health François Braun.
The pharmacies are located in the cities of Paris, Lille, Marseille and Fréjus. They are located near hospitals to facilitate the storage of the vaccine at -80°C.
A review of the experiment will be made following 15 days, and might lead to an expansion of vaccination in other pharmacies.
18,500 people vaccinated out of the 250,000 eligible
The injections will be offered to people most at risk, that is to say to homosexuals who have several partners and to sex workers, who do not always find an appointment slot in the hundred open centers.
As of August 4, more than 2,400 cases of monkeypox have been identified in France. On the same date, only 18,500 of the 250,000 eligible people had been vaccinated in the 153 vaccination centres.
