Bhopal: The monkey Hanuman, who jumped out of the Thiruvananthapuram zoo, is still circling the zoo authorities. Meanwhile, another news comes from Madhya Pradesh. The latest report is that the monkey that has been attacking many people for more than two weeks and keeping the local residents in a state of fear has been caught.

A monkey created an ‘atmosphere of terror’ in Madhya Pradesh’s Rajgarh for two weeks. It attacked and injured around 20 people. The authorities had also announced a reward of Rs 21,000 to those who could help capture the monkey when it became too much trouble. Finally, a team of rescue workers from Ujjain with the help of the authorities and locals put the monkey in a cage. After finding it with the help of a drone, the gang subjugated the monkey by drugging it.

More attention was paid to the dramatic scenes of the monkey being caged and loaded into the vehicle than the capture of the monkey. As the forest officials shifted the monkey to the vehicle, the villagers lined up around them chanting ‘Jai Shri Ram’ and ‘Jai Bajrang Bali’ slogans.

Eight children were among the 20 people attacked by the monkey in the last two weeks. It was common for monkeys to appear unexpectedly on roofs and windows and suddenly jump towards people and attack them. Many of the victims were deeply wounded. Many were injured after being shocked and fell to the ground. A local resident with a gun was also seen guarding the top of the house after the monkey harassed him.

After attempts to catch the monkey failed, a reward was announced for those who caught it. Finally, the Forest Department contacted the District Collector and sent a rescue team from Ujjain. After four hours of effort, the monkey was caged. Rajgarh Municipal Corporation Chairman Vinod Sahu informed that a reward of Rs 21,000 will be handed over to the Ujjain team. He also informed that the monkey will be released in the forest area of the region where there is less human habitation.
