The Vesdre, the lower Ourthe, the Amblève, and their tributaries have, however, reached the pre-alert thresholds. Concerning the lower Ourthe, the precipitation forecast in the next 24 hours could cause very localized overflows but without great danger, mainly flooding of meadows. For Vesdre and Amblève, levels should remain high over the coming days.
Sarah Pierre, spokesperson for the SPW, reassures about the different situations depending on the forecasts: “This should not affect the population directly. Moderate rain is forecast but we are predicted to gradually return to dry weather. We are calm, but we are monitoring the situation in real time.“
