Mong Kok Murder | 3 defendants charged with murder to appear in court in August

An illegal fishing machine gambling stall in Portland Street, Mong Kok, was murdered in the early morning of last Friday (27th). A couple suspected of debt collection was ambushed. The 46-year-old man died following being sent to the hospital, and the 59-year-old woman was injured. Three of them were charged with murder and will appear in Kowloon City Magistrates’ Courts today.

The three defendants, aged between 31 and 34, were escorted to the Kowloon City Magistrates’ Courts. They did not need to answer. The magistrates adjourned their hearings to August 22, pending further investigation by the police.

The charges allege the three murdered a man with others on the second floor of 299 Portland Street in Mong Kok last Friday. The police received reports on the same day that a man and a woman were attacked during debt collection. The 46-year-old man was killed and the 59-year-old woman was injured. Five people had been arrested and charged with murder and conspiracy to wound with intent.
