Monflanquin. The market persists and signs!

The Thursday market, a few hundred years old (it dates back to the Middle Ages) has like any structure, ups and downs. It crosses the seasons by remaining “standing” even if sometimes the cold gets the better of some exhibitors who give up for once in passing and some of the customers staying warm at home… But it is there and fulfills its role on the Place des Arcades in the very heart of the bastide by welcoming the inhabitants in order to meet their expectations, both in terms of food and clothing and other areas of consumption. There are the usual popular stalls and every once in a while there are a new one or two that display their wares for all to see. In recent weeks, we have discovered the Breads of Margot Savry, with natural leaven: the “Campagne” (wheat T80), “the Engrain” (small spelled), “the Méteil” (rye, wheat T80), “Les 3 Monts” (small spelled, wheat T80, rye), “the Norwegian” (spelt, wheat, rye) with pastries, biscuits and local organic peasant flours from the bakery “Le Point du jour”, 276 route du Levant in Montauriol.
