After making a name for himself in cricket fields around the world, Pakistan’s famous former fast bowler Wasim Akram is going to perform in the film world with his wife Shanira Akram.
This year, his first film ‘Money Back Guarantee’ is coming on Eid-ul-Fitr, in which Fawad Khan, John Rambo etc. are also present.
Interviewing Wasim Akram for the film was not easy.
First, I could not find time in Pakistan, so I reached Dubai, then Waseem Akram suddenly had to go from Dubai to Abu Dhabi, so we followed him there and sat down to talk with him in a part of the St. Regis Resort.
When Wasim came dressed in a green T-shirt with a relatively serious face, the first question we asked was that why and how did he think of coming from the cricket field to the cinema screen?
Wasim Akram said that he has been working in advertising for the past 30 years, but advertising is easy because it is a one or two minute job.
“When I got a call from Faisal Qureshi for this film, because I had worked with him in some interesting commercials for a mobile phone company, and he thinks very differently, when he narrated my part in the film So I liked it. Whenever they say, I will do it immediately.’
Wasim Akram admits that acting is a tough job.
‘One line has to be memorized, so greetings to all actors, acting seems easy but it’s not and it’s more difficult for a newbie.’
About his role in the film, Wasim said that he is the president of a fictitious bank in a fictitious country and Fawad Khan is his junior officer.
He said that there is a chair battle between him and Fawad in the film.
He said that he has known Fawad for a long time, everyone including him helped him a lot in this film.
Fawad’s previous film The Legend of Mulajt was a huge success. ‘Moneyback Guarantee’ is a comedy film, it has everything, so people will love it when it releases on Eid-ul-Fitr.’
He said that he did not take acting lessons from anyone for the film as he knew camera and light because of his 30 years of work in advertisements.
Then he knows everyone in the film, so the nine-day shoot was very relaxed and fun, especially with Shaneera in the film.
About his on-screen romance with Shanira, Wasim Akram said, “It’s quite a different film, it has more humor, it’s out of the ordinary, very out of the ordinary.”

Wasim Akram said that he danced quite openly in this film, he was left open by the director, which he took full advantage of.
He gave a message to Faisal Qureshi that his best steps should be taken.
Wasim said that he will not do any more films after this film as it is a very demanding job.
The fast bowler said that he thinks a film should be made on him, an interesting book on his life has been published and he will also come to Pakistan for two weeks.
‘To make a film on me, I have to show from childhood to adulthood, all my successes and failures, it needs a bigger budget.’
For the film on his life, he did not name any actor, only saying that he should be six feet three inches tall like him.
