Upon the death of Joseph Renson, the founder of Monde Sauvage d’Aywaille, his heirs made the decision to put the animal park up for sale.
A sale which might take place in the coming weeks since the newspaper l’Écho tells us that the Sodaphi group is in the process of buying the establishment. Indeed, confirms Alexandre Dallemagne, the CEO of the Liège group to our colleagues at l’Écho, “We are in the closing period (Editor’s note: the final stage of the business transfer process which ratifies the negotiations). The first thing will be to continue the beautiful family project of the founders. In the next two years, Le Monde Sauvage will have an Asian continent, a project by Joseph Renson that he was unable to finalize. The animals are already there,” concludes Alexandre Dallemagne.
Housing
But undoubtedly in the desire to perpetuate the Aqualian company, Sodaphi intends to innovate and integrate a housing offer. This housing offer will focus on the Aywaille region and not only on the park” continues Alexandre Dallemagne in the columns of the Echo. “This would provide a plus for people who love animals, combined with a mix of classic leisure activities in the region such as visits or bike rides.”
And the future boss of Monde Sauvage was reassuring: the staff, around forty people currently working in Aywaille, would remain in place, as would the 600 animals.
