Al-Marsad newspaper: A video clip showed that Representative Cynthia Zarazir was beaten and harassed in the vicinity of the Lebanese Parliament, during the retired military’s attempt to reach the Parliament building, coinciding with the session to study and approve the 2022 budget.
In the details, Zarazir left the council in solidarity with the retired military, and said, “This police state is suppressing protesters.”
During her participation in the sit-in, Zarazir was beaten during a stampede that took place between the demonstrators and the military, but then managed to get away from the protest site and re-enter the parliament.
The retired military was able, earlier today, Monday, to storm the vicinity of the House of Representatives in Al-Najma Square, in protest once morest one of the budget items related to their financial compensation.
