Moldova’s parliament passed the Law on Information Technology Parks (No. 77/2016), marking the start of a new chapter for the country’s booming technology sector. This important decision will extend the period of operation of the Moldova Innovation Technology Park (MITP.md) from 10 years to 20 years, with the state maintaining the Single Tax guarantee of 7. % until 2035, reaffirming Moldova’s commitment to promoting a strong IT environment.
Since its inception, MITP has served as a catalyst for Moldova’s growing technology industry, reaching 5% of the country’s GDP in 2023 alone. MITP has helped create more than 400 new businesses and supported 1,900 new jobs, contributing significantly to the country’s economy. Moldova’s IT industry is also the industry with the highest salaries in the country. This is a testament to the booming industrial sector and MITP is playing a key role in driving this growth.
Amending this law will help improve the park’s capabilities. To attract investment and cultivate technological innovation “The extension clearly demonstrates Moldova’s commitment to the technology sector.
