The 2024 Paris Olympics will start in eighty days, the Hungarian team’s preparation for the competition is being supported by MOL and the MOL – Új Európa Foundation
The Olympic preparation has taken a turn for the worse – it’s a matter of approach whether to say that on Tuesday, or on Tuesday, there will be only 80 days until the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics. The currently 153-member Hungarian Olympic Team is preparing for the games with full steam – in the preparation, the MOL is in MOL – New Europe Foundation also helps.

At the pentathlon games in Paris, 10,500 athletes from more than two hundred countries will compete for medals – champions will be crowned in a total of 329 events in 32 sports. The specialists of the Hungarian Olympic Committee, following discussions with the sports federations, consider it realistic to win 15-25 medals, which is roughly in line with the international forecasts, according to which our athletes will win 22 medals.
“According to preliminary calculations, the Hungarian Olympic Team will have 180-190 members in Paris, this is due to the fact that we will compete in four team sports at the Olympics, something that has not happened in twenty years.” – said Zsolt Gyulay, president of the Hungarian Olympic Committee. – “As for the result, what I am saying is obviously not a surprise to anyone: a good Olympic performance is very beneficial to Hungarian sport. It will not depend on the candidates: they already know that they can get there. Even if no one else believes them, they know because I knew at the time. Of course, this requires the right background.”

Talent is a national treasure
The MOL – New Europe Foundation, established in 2021 by MOL and the Hungarian State, is also committed to supporting current and future Hungarian Olympians, within the framework of which it also gives special support to the work of the Hungarian Olympic Committee. In 2023, the organization has already announced two major sports tenders: on the one hand, for athletes over 23 who have achieved outstanding results in national and international sports competitions and for the sports organizations preparing them for the Olympic Games, and within the talent support program for the younger age group, with an emphasis on youth education.

Preparation for successful participation in the Olympics and Paralympics in 2024 requires even more motivation and support in both team sports and individual sports, and the Foundation is happy to play a helping role in this.
