Journalist Zakaria Faham appeared in a special interview on “Virgin FM” from Damascus with journalist Jad Abaza, during his presence at the Damascus Citadel Nights festival, accompanied by the Emir of Tarab, Saber Al-Rubai, in his capacity as director of his media office.

Zakaria opened the meeting with a recorded message in which he flirted with Syria, describing it as the land of glory and glories and a paradise on the throne of the country.

During the dialogue, when asked regarding his opinion regarding the decision of the Syrian Artists Syndicate, Professor Mohsen Ghazi, to prevent some names from singing in Syria who use obscene words in concerts, he said: “I support this decision, as it is a completely correct and decisive decision to preserve the culture, civilization and morals of art.” He added, “Whoever does not want to abide, he should stay in his house, because art is on the verge of distortion.” He added that this step is very positive, similar to the step of the former captain of artists in Egypt, Mr. Hani Shaker.

As for his cooperation with the Emir of Tarab, Saber Al-Rubai, he considered that his testimony was wounded by Saber. Saber is the owner of an original art and a great artist who selects his songs with great professionalism. He is a master in every sense of the word, and his artistic career must be studied.

When asked regarding the disagreement of the era, “Ziyad Burji and Elissa,” he said that he blessed Ziad Burji when he won the invitation and republished the song, as it is very beautiful in his voice, and he is the owner of the right, not Elissa. He concluded the meeting with a message addressed to all media professionals, advising every media professional to stay away from denigration, nepotism and settling scores, and to be objective. He stressed the importance of the presence of the stars of the Arab world on Syrian festivals, as they have a great history and a distinguished archive, such as “Saber Al-Rubai, Najwa Karam, George Wassouf, Marwan Khoury and Carole Samaha.”
