The evening will be held at 7:00 pm next Monday, corresponding to February 13, and the book will be discussed by art critic and historian Ashraf Gharib.

And regarding the book “Muhammad Qandil 3 Salamat,” the art historian Ashraf Gharib says: “In this interesting book, writer and researcher Moheb Jamil reviews the biography of singer Muhammad Qandil and his artistic career in an easy and attractive manner. But it is better late than never, or perhaps Qandil’s biography was waiting for a diligent historian and researcher like Moheb Jameel to undertake this task within the framework of his broader project through which he re-reads the history of the Arab singing movement; Seeking to rehabilitate those who were neglected by the history of the song or passed unnoticed in the way that happened in his previous books, including: Fathia Ahmed, Saleh Abdel-Hay, and Sahar Al-Mughni.

And “Moheb Jamil”, a poet and researcher in the history of music, has previously published several books, regarding a number of singers, including: “Fathiye Ahmed.. the singer of the two countries”, on the Lebanese Dar Al-Jadeed – the book “Mahmoud Darwish … My Overt and Secret Names”. Poetry anthologies from 1971-1982 issued by Dar Al-Ahlia in Jordan – the book “Saleh Abdel-Hay .. The Knight of the Original Tarab”, the book “The Magic of the Singer .. Lyrical Faces in the First Half of the Twentieth Century”, the book “Restoration of Engraved Faces”, the book “ Muhammad Abd al-Muttalib .. The Sultan of Singing”, and the book “Muhammad Qandil 3 Salamat”.

The artist, “Mohamed Qandil”, is considered one of the most prominent Egyptian singers until the nineties of the last century, and among his most famous songs: “Between Shattin and Mayh, Jamil and Asmar, Ya Rayhin al-Ghoriya, Ya Sweet Sobh, Sahab Rasmah, Abu Nara al-Sukkara, My Sweetest Country,” and others.
