Mohammedia fire: The public prosecutor takes over the investigation

The national division of the judicial police has opened an investigation into the fire in Mohammedia which broke out in a gas depot and caused significant material losses nearby.

The public prosecutor at the Casablanca Court of Appeal has instructed the national division of the judicial police to investigate this incident, instead of the judicial police of Mohammedia, sources told Hespress.

The same sources indicated that the seriousness of the incident, which shook the city a few days ago, required the assignment of the security brigade to search and investigate the causes of the fire.

The fire that broke out at the city’s port resulted in several explosions that nearly turned into a disaster, especially since the explosions that shook the area were so strong that they might have spread to other nearby gas companies.

The fire caused serious material losses, particularly in the homes of nearby citizens who saw parts of their homes collapse or equipment destroyed. In addition, two cars were burned in the fire which caused no casualties.

The Ministry of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development had indicated in a previous press release that the fire broke out in one of the propane gas transport tankers, then spread to four trucks in the reserved parking lot. at the factory.
