Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – Activists circulated on social media, pictures of the Saudi Crown Prince, Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and his reaction by not bowing, as did the Thai Prime Minister, Prayuth Chan Ocha, during his greeting to the prince, which sparked an interaction.
Prince Mohammed bin Salman had met OCHA at the Thai government headquarters in the capital, Bangkok, during which they discussed aspects of bilateral relations and ways to develop and enhance them, in addition to exchanging conversations on a number of issues of common concern, according to the official Saudi Press Agency.
Mohammed bin Salman said, according to what was reported by the agency: “Thank you, President, for your kind invitation. Since our first meeting with you in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on your first visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in almost nine months, it was agreed to cooperate in many sectors, and much of it was accomplished more than we expect.” This confirms that the opportunities between our two countries are much greater than what we aspired to, and this is a very good thing. Today, we are working in cooperation in several areas in the field of energy, tourism, investment, infrastructure, agriculture and other areas that countries will benefit from. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is the first Arab country to be built. Relationship with Thailand in the fifties and now we look forward to moving to another stage in the relationship between the two countries, today we will witness the signing of many agreements and also we will discuss many opportunities in the future that we will work on next year. The economy of Thailand and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is very large. Finally, I thank your country for the hospitality, good reception, and your patronage of the Saudi delegation.”
Badr Asaker, director of the private office of the Saudi Crown Prince, had posted on his official Twitter page, video clips of the Crown Prince’s speech during the meeting with the Thai Prime Minister.
