Mohammed bin Salman receives Ammar al-Hakim.. and the latter tweets about the details of the meeting

Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN)– Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman received in Jeddah, on Friday, the leader of the “Wisdom Movement” in Iraq, Ammar al-Hakim.

The Saudi Press Agency said that “during the reception, they reviewed Saudi-Iraqi relations, and a number of issues of common concern.”

She added: “The reception was attended by Prince Khaled bin Salman, Deputy Minister of Defense, Saudi Minister of State and National Security Adviser Dr. Musaed bin Muhammad Al-Aiban, and Saudi Ambassador to Iraq Abdulaziz Al-Shammari, while the Iraqi side was attended by the Deputy Head of the Al-Hikma Movement, Mohsen Al-Hakim.”

For his part, Ammar al-Hakim said, through his Twitter account: “We met at the beginning of our visit to the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, where we emphasized in the meeting the close historical relations between the two brotherly peoples and ways to strengthen and document them.”

He added, “We pointed out the importance of integration between the two neighboring brotherly countries and its positive impact on the various sectors of cultural, economic and scientific cooperation, especially since the two countries represent a regional and international economic weight.”

He stated: “We commended the development plans of the Crown Prince, especially the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, and the positive repercussions of those plans on the countries of the region in general and Iraq in particular.”

Al-Hakim also said: “We discussed the developments in the Iraqi arena, and we emphasized that dialogue between the various parties is the best way to reach satisfactory solutions to the current political impasse in Iraq, and we stressed that the solutions must remain Iraqi without any external pressures.”

He added: “Regionally, we have praised the humanitarian truce in Yemen, with the need to establish it and to put final solutions to the crisis of this long-suffering Arab country.”

He stated: “We also referred to the importance of stability on both sides of the Gulf and praised the Iraqi role in mediating between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and its positive repercussions on the peoples of the region.”

He continued, “We also stressed the importance of coming out with satisfactory decisions for the Arab masses from the upcoming summit in Algeria and emphasizing the centrality of the Palestinian cause and the importance of it remaining a symbol of the unification of the Arab peoples,” he said.
