The Saudi Crown Prince, Prince Mohammed bin Salman, accompanied by FIFA President Gianni Infantino, attended the activities of the Red Sea fight, while the Saudi Minister of Sports, Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, crowned Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Usyk with the title of world heavyweight boxing championAfter his victory over the British competition, Anthony Joshua, by a decision of two of three judges, in the “Red Sea Fight” meeting, which was held in Jeddah yesterday, Saturday, with the attendance of more than 10,000 spectators in the gymnasium in King Abdullah City in Jeddah, and millions of people watched it around the world, via carrier channels.

Saudi Arabia’s hosting of this fight is among the objectives of the Ministry of Sports and the Saudi Boxing Federation, to achieve the strategic goals of Saudi Arabia’s continuation of hosting the most important and largest international sporting events, as a global destination for hosting such major global competitions, in addition to the diversity of hosting events and programs.

On this occasion, the Saudi Minister of Sports Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal said: “We are proud to host this major global event for the second time, which is a consolidation of one of our goals, which aims to make Saudi Arabia a destination to host world championships, which confirms the unprecedented amount of interest that the sports sector receives. From the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and the direct support of Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, which we see in every sporting event held in the Kingdom.

He added, “Congratulations to the boxer Oleksandr Usyk wins the Red Sea boutand better luck to his rival, “Joshua”, both of whom performed historically, in front of a large audience, and thank you for their presence on this unforgettable night.”
