Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – The Egyptian player, Liverpool, described the confrontation with Real Madrid in the Champions League final on Friday as “revenge”.
“Yes, they beat us in the final, and it was a sad day for all of us, so yes, it is revenge,” Salah said at the ceremony to receive the English Book Award for the best player of the season, regarding whether he describes the Real Madrid match as revenge.
The Egyptian player had raised controversy with statements prior to the match between Al-Yal and Manchester City in the second leg of the Champions League semi-final, when he said that he hoped to face Real Madrid to avenge the loss in 2018.
After the riyal qualified for the final, Salah published a tweet on his official page on Twitter, in which he said: “We have an account for his two halves,” as he put it.
Al-Yal and Liverpool will meet in the Champions League final on May 28, at the Stade de France Nationale in the French capital, Paris.
