Salah was substituted in the FA Cup final against Chelsea last month

Mohamed Salah refused his team’s request from Liverpool to conduct a scan of an undisclosed injury, before playing a full match for the Egyptian national team on Sunday.

Salah, 29, led the Egyptian national team to victory over Guinea in Cairo 1-0, in the Egyptian team’s first match in the qualifiers for the African Nations Cup next year. Ihab Galal, the coach of the Egyptian team, said that “Salah suffered an injury, but he was prejudiced against himself.” In a statement after the match, Salah will undergo an x-ray now.

Egypt is scheduled to play an African qualifier against Ethiopia in Lilongwe, Malawi, on June 9, and a friendly match against South Korea on the following Tuesday.

During the FA Cup final, which Liverpool beat Chelsea last month, Salah was replaced in the 33rd minute, after he sustained a thigh injury.
