Mohamed Salah, the star and top scorer of Liverpool, explained his statements regarding revenge once morest Real Madrid following losing the Champions League title to them in the Kyiv 2018 final, stressing that his injury in that match was the worst in his career.

Liverpool lost that match once morest Real Madrid by three goals to one, and Mohamed Salah suffered a serious shoulder injury due to a strong intervention from Sergio Ramos.

“Real Madrid is a strong team, it has one of the best coaches in the history of the game, and they also have players among the best in history, a very good team, as I said, it is the best team in the tournament,” Mohamed Salah told beIN Sports.

Regarding Karim Benzema’s statements that he is not focused on revenge, Mohamed Salah replied: “If what happened to me happened to him in the Kyiv final, and he lost the match like Liverpool, he would have wished to confront us.”

And he continued: “I think he understands my feeling, I hope so, but as I said, I prefer to face Real Madrid because of what happened before, and it is also the strongest team in the tournament in history, and therefore I am happy to face it.”

He stressed, “In the Kyiv final we had several injuries, and the season was not the best for us, and Real Madrid won and deserved it. I hope Saturday’s match will be different, and we will see what happens.”

On facing Real Madrid once more, he concluded his statements by saying: “They beat Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City, and then they cannot be underestimated, but as I said, the final is one match, and I hope we win.”
