MoE: The primary state budget surplus decreased by 1.5 billion euros in the first two months of 2024 – 2024-07-02 11:30:39

The State Budget showed a reduced primary surplus in the two months of January – February 2024 on a cash basis, compared to the corresponding period last year, according to a report by the Bank of Greece.

The primary surplus of the State Budget this year amounted to 2.1 billion euros compared to 3.7 billion euros in the corresponding period last year.

Regarding the cash result of the central administration, it presented a surplus of 346 million euros, compared to a surplus of 1.299 billion euros in the corresponding period of 2023.

As reported by the Central Bank, this development reflects the increase in regular budget revenues, which amounted to 10.696 billion euros, from 9.613 billion euros last year.

As for regular budget expenditures, they amounted to 9.552 billion euros, from 9.524 billion euros in the January-February 2023 period.
