The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced that it has granted full approval to Moderna’s Spikefax vaccine, which was previously approved for emergency use in the United States.
“The public can rest assured that Spikefax meets the administration’s standards for safety, efficacy, and manufacturing quality required for any vaccine approved for use in the United States,” Acting FDA Commissioner Janet Woodcock said in a statement.
“The Food and Drug Administration’s approval of Spikefax is an important step in the fight once morest the COVID-19 pandemic, and it is the second COVID-19 vaccine to be fully approved,” she added.
Full and final approval of Moderna vaccine is restricted to adults aged 18 years and over.
