A rumor started from some strange changes in Infinity Ward’s social media profiles would be making people believe that a new game would be announced soon. Call of Duty. Specifically, this might be Modern Warfare 2.
On networks like Twitter and Instagram Infinity Ward changed their profile photos and covers for what appears to be a black background. However, it seems that there are several hidden elements. Some users decided to clarify the images and noted the presence of a very popular character: Simon «Ghost» Riley. Her skull mask can be seen at the top center of the image.
According to public interpretations, this might lead to the announcement of a new Call of Duty early. This theory also takes into account own official statements made in February, when it was pointed out that a sequel to Modern Warfare of 2019 would be on the way. However, back then they didn’t give it a name but a simple “COD 2022”.
In other words, we’re not talking regarding a remastering of Modern Warfare 2 (2009). It would be the continuation of the 2019 title, which was a reboot or “reboot” of the popular sub-series of Call of Duty.
So far there are no details, not even of his history. Modern Warfare it focused on a conflict between Russian forces and the fictional country of Urzikstan, where Western forces even intervene to foil the Russians’ plans.
