After the rumored closure of the maternity ward in Waidhofen an der Ybbs, the Amstetten State Hospital informed expectant parents in a broadcast: Around 950 children are born every year at the gynecology and obstetrics department in Amstetten. The department’s stated goal is to provide individual care while maintaining the highest level of safety for mother and child. Midwives and doctors are available to provide advice and support to the expectant parents.

The state hospital has four very friendly delivery rooms and a dedicated labor room. The aim of the obstetrics team is to support a natural birth process. Promoting early mother-child contact is also possible in the operating room during cesarean sections (cesarean section bonding).
