Just before the birth of his child
Death drama regarding Daniel Aminati’s little sister
Daniel Aminati between deep sadness and great anticipation: A few days ago, Deborah, the moderator’s sister, suddenly died overnight. The accident happened while Aminati was waiting for their first child together with his wife Patrice Eva.
Daniel Aminati (48) announced the sad news on Instagram: “My middle sister Deborah’s heart stopped beating on the night of August 3, 2022.” The woman died in Gambia, where she lived, aged just 46.
The well-known Pro-Sieben presenter is torn between joy and sorrow, as he expects the birth of his first child with his wife Patrice Eva (28) at any moment. In an interview with the “Bild” Aminati tells how he is doing: “I’m in an absolute emotional chaos right now. The situation shows me the whole contradictoriness of being and how close joy and sorrow are to each other.»
Decades of excessive alcohol consumption
The death of his younger sister Deborah was sudden but not unexpected, the TV star continued: “My sister died following decades of excessive alcohol consumption. Her body and soul were totally drained and tired.” The evening before her death, he called his sister, Aminati continued. “It sounded surprisingly good and clear once more following a long time.” In March he visited Deborah in Gambia – a goodbye forever.
A friend found the woman lifeless in bed in his Alex Reed room. “When he checked on her in the morning, she wasn’t breathing. He took Deborah to a nearby hospital, but they were unable to resuscitate her. She was pronounced dead at 5:20 a.m.
Father beat children bloody
The news of his sister’s death shocked him, says Daniel Aminati. But: “Because of her lifestyle, it was clear that this might happen at some point.” He always tried to free Deborah from the vicious cycle of addiction. “I told her that her past doesn’t have to determine her future.”
The Aminati siblings grew up in Germany with a violent father who beat his children bloody and mentally abused them. The father is from Ghana, the mother is German. The violence took a heavy toll on the family. So much so that Daniel Aminati became addicted to drugs and suffered from severe depression.
“A time to laugh, a time to cry”
The “Taff” moderator managed to break free from the cycle of addiction and mental health problems. Unfortunately not his sister. “Deborah tried to numb herself with alcohol to forget. But you can’t experience real healing unless you really engage with yourself deeply. Instead, unfortunately, she had more alcohol and things only got worse. At some point, hard drugs came along as well.”
He has always supported Debbie, as Aminati lovingly calls his sister, financially and mentally. “I helped her get apartments, set them up. But following a short time she was thrown out once more – because of a disturbance of the peace. And not just once.”
Deborah should find her last resting place in Germany, so she is close to her family. “Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to hold my sister. Right now I’m just terribly sad. But I know that the opposite will soon follow. A time to laugh, a time to cry. It’s a constant up and down.” (grb)
