The Alexandria Sanitation Company announced, in a statement, that tomorrow, Wednesday, Alexandria Governorate is expected to witness moderate to heavy rains, starting in the followingnoon, from moderate to heavy.
Major General Mahmoud Nafie, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sanitation Company in Alexandria, said that the company’s level of readiness has been raised in preparation for the rain, according to the Meteorological Authority’s forecast statement, that today, Wednesday, Alexandria Governorate is expected to witness rainfall and active southwesterly winds.
Nafi added that levels of readiness have been raised, cars and uniforms have been deployed, sanitation and disinfection work continues, vacations and rest allowances are suspended, and sector heads and general managers are present around the clock.
The Meteorological Authority expects moderate rains to fall in areas of (Alexandria, Beheira, Kafr El-Sheikh, Dakahlia, Damietta, Port Said) which may be heavy and thundery in the evening at intermittent intervals, and light rains which may be moderate in Matrouh Governorate and areas of southern Lower Egypt, extending in the evening to areas From Greater Cairo, with an incidence rate of (approximately 40%), it is light in the canal cities and northern Upper Egypt, with an incidence rate of (approximately 30%) at intermittent periods.
Today, wind activity is also witnessed at times on areas of the northeastern coasts, Lower Egypt, and northern Upper Egypt at intermittent intervals. The Mediterranean Sea is moderate and the wave height is (1:1.5 metres), and the Red Sea is moderate: turbulent and the wave height is (2.5:15 metres).
