New Delhi: Body of ex-model murdered in Gurugram found. The dead body of Divya Pahuja (27) was recovered from a canal in Haryana. The Gurugram police conducted an extensive search to find the body of Divya, who was killed in the hotel room on January 2.
Four people, including hotel owner Abhijit Singh, were in the custody of the crime branch in the murder. Abhijith, Omprakash and Hemraj were arrested the day following the incident and one Balraj Gill was arrested on Friday. The accused are employees of Abhijith’s hotel. Bal Raj’s confession revealed that the body was thrown in the Bhakra Canal in Punjab.
The murder happened following Divya Pahuja secretly recorded the footage of her affair with Abhijit Singh and tried to extort money by showing it.
The murder took place on January 2 at the City Point Hotel owned by Abhijit. Abhijith had paid Rs 10 lakh each to the co-accused to cremate Divya’s body. During the investigation of the crime branch, the CCTV footage of the dead body being carried in the car was obtained. CCTV footage shows Divya, Abhijit and another person arriving at the hotel on January 2 and Abhijit and his accomplices dragging Divya’s body away that night.
Divya Pahuja is the prime accused in the 2016 gang leader Sandeep Gadoli fake encounter case. Divya was the girlfriend of Sandeep Gadoli. Divya, Divya’s mother and five police officers were implicated by the police in the case of Gadoli’s death in a fake encounter at a hotel in Mumbai on February 6, 2016. They were granted bail by the Bombay High Court in June last year. Two more people are to be arrested in Divya’s murder.
