After a day of unsuccessfully searching for victims of suspected drowning in the canal, Binh Duong province’s functional departments mobilized large-capacity pumps and frogmen to the scene.
On the evening of February 21, a representative of Bau Bang District Police (Binh Duong) said that they are continuing to search for victims suspected of drowning in Tham Rot canal area, hamlet 1, Tru Van Tho commune.
The scene where the incident occurred
According to initial information, at regarding 4pm on February 20, Mr. Tieu Van Khanh (born in 1987, from Ca Mau) on his way home from work was called by two friends to the Tham Rot canal area of Hamlet 1, Tru Van Commune. Tho, Bau Bang district to catch fish.
Around 5 pm on the same day, the three split up to catch fish in different areas. After that, the two friends turned around and did not see Mr. Khanh anywhere.
At this time, there are still clothes, phones, motorbikes of Mr. Khanh on the bank of the canal. Suspecting that Mr. Khanh was drowning, you reported it to the police.
After receiving the news, the Police Department of Fire Prevention and Rescue, Binh Duong Provincial Police sent forces to join the search for victims. However, by dawn on February 21, the forces still might not find the victim.
