The bill on mobilization has already been discussed in the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada and will be introduced to the hall at the next meeting. This was announced by the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Ruslan Stefanchuk ether telethon
“As far as I am informed, this draft law has already been discussed in the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada. Now a comparative table is being prepared for the second reading, and I really hope that this draft law will be introduced to the hall of the Verkhovna Rada at the next meeting,” emphasized Stefanchuk.
The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada noted that everyone understands the importance of the bill on mobilization.
“But we are going, including, on the path of not only a single law. The President signed a bill that was adopted in the Verkhovna Rada on lowering the age of mobilization conscription from 27 to 25 years. Also, another bill that was adopted by the Verkhovna Rada regarding the creation of an electronic cabinet of a conscript. In addition, another bill that also establishes certain guarantees for our military. And now we are working, in fact, on the fourth bill – amendments to the Law on Mobilization, which will clearly establish the criteria of justice for the performance of citizens of Ukraine its duty to protect the Motherland,” Stefanchuk emphasized.
He added that the profile committee in a very democratic way and through difficult discussions still completed the review.
“I emphasize once once more, I am convinced that we will have the potential to bring it to the Verkhovna Rada hall at the next meeting of the Council,” Stefanchuk summed up.
Mobilization in Ukraine – details
In Ukraine, the maximum conscription age for mobilization was lowered from 27 to 25 years, the corresponding law was signed by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi. The document has been waiting for signature since May 30, 2023, probably due to the fact that this provision might be included in the new law on mobilization.
The President of Ukraine also signed the law on the electronic cabinet of conscripts, which, among other things, provides for the automatic granting of the status of a participant in hostilities.
It is worth noting that on February 7, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine voted in the first reading for the government bill on mobilization. By the second reading of the draft law “On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine Regarding Certain Issues of Military Service, Mobilization, and Military Registration” (registration number 10449), people’s deputies made more than 4,000 amendments.
