Examination passed for Greater Geneva with Bern. As part of its evaluation of 4th generation agglomeration projects, the Federal Office for Territorial Development has judged several projects in the region “very positively”. The federal contribution for the period 2024-2027 has thus been increased to more than 140 million francs. This is the first time that more than 90% of the projects submitted have been selected, welcome the Franco-Valdo-Geneva authorities: “This result illustrates the recognition of our cross-border living area and the cooperation carried out by all the partners of the Greater Geneva.”

Place Cornavin, greenways

Among the measures adopted are the extension of the tram line between Grand-Saconnex (GE) and Ferney-Voltaire (F), the extension of that of Annemasse (F), the first stage of the redevelopment of the public spaces of the station Cornavin, the greenways towards Versoix and Bernex, a high-level bus service Annemasse-Bonne-Hôpital or even the 3rd stage of the requalification of the Swiss Route between Gland and Prangins (VD).

More virtuous mobility

“The realization of these projects will contribute to improving the quality of life of the inhabitants of Greater Geneva through more virtuous and efficient mobility infrastructures, in line with urbanization and the environment”, add the authorities. The Confederation launched the consultation procedure on Friday for all 4th generation projects.
