Mobil’in federates industrialists and communities towards the urban and sustainable mobility of tomorrow

On the front of the stage, mobility has once again become a central subject. The health crisis has favored a profound change in modes of travel. “The mobility market has matured ten years in a few months remarks Alexandre Luternauer, co-founder and manager of Trackap. And the infrastructures have not always had time to adapt. For example, the unprecedented growth in travel by bicycle or electric scooter requires rental, security and connectivity solutions to combat theft, or even charging stations using solar panels. Now, the implementation of Low Emission Zones (ELZs) is fueling developments.

Startups at the forefront of mobility

At the heart of the changes, local authorities and industrialists are often moving forward with quiet steps. “We must act to move forward and find solutions”, explains the manager. By their nature, startups have the advantage of being agile and reactive. “They constitute levers of development at the service of industrial efficiency. » The sharing of knowledge and know-how between these actors is intended to be virtuous and complementary.

Each year, two hundred startups are hosted within EuraTechnologies in seven verticals, including PropTech, Smart City, Energy and Mobility. They are involved, for example, in hardware software, such as in the manufacture of battery cells whose technology reduces the need for rare earths. Start-ups that have the ability to disrupt uses, but must also rely on large groups to finance and deploy their innovations.

Hauts-de-France, land of new mobility

In Hauts-de-France, the ecosystem of new mobility finds a particular echo. At the crossroads of European travel practices, the region’s industrial heritage is now enjoying a second wind thanks to its specialized start-ups. For the first time, its main players EuraTechnologies, Transalley, Trackap and move FACTORY combine their expertise on the occasion of the Mobil’in event. The objective of this first edition is to send a strong signal, emphasizes Agnieszka Bogucka, PropTech/Smart City Program Manager at EuraTechnologies. It aims not only to expose the innovative solutions of start-ups in the region, but also to provide solutions to manufacturers in order to identify the right partner for their projects. In addition to soft mobility, the decarbonization of transport and the circular economy occupy a prominent place.

The challenge is also to raise the awareness of local authorities and the legislator to define an investment framework so as to guide the roadmap of industrialists, emphasizes Alexandre Luternauer.

On the program: meetings, round tables and demonstrations

A place to discover new forms of mobility and new uses, Mobil’in defends a global vision. While EuraTechnologies will favor networking and alliances between start-ups and manufacturers in order to scale up, Transalley will detail the financing of the mobility start-ups of tomorrow in order to sustain the sector in the region. The move FACTORY will focus on new uses and support for employees towards low-emission mobility.

Each theme will be addressed during conferences and dedicated round tables, with a highly anticipated first event around the Mobility Startups Showroom (supported by the European Metropolis of Lille and the Hauts-de-France Region) on September 19. The meeting will be marked by round tables, pitches and demonstrations.

Structuring the mobility sector

Through Mobil’in, the desire is also to structure the mobility sector by allowing players to meet and discuss so as to lay the foundations of the sector, advances Agnieszka Bogucka. “Mobility is driven by communities around the infrastructure and services put in place. But the innovation and industrialization of transport solutions are more the responsibility of companies. We have to bring everyone together to carry out the projects,” and make them evolve with regard to uses or events such as the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Orientation appears to be essential to meet climate, regulatory and even social challenges in terms of accessibility. “The world is moving, and moving fast”, recalls Alexander Luternauer. Manufacturers and local authorities must find the solutions to put in place and the partners to co-construct the urban and sustainable mobility of tomorrow.
