A recent study revealed the danger of using a mobile phone at night, and the possibility of an increased risk of bowel cancer due to this habit.
Conducted at the Barcelona Institute for Global Health, the researchers used satellite images from the International Space Station to study participants’ outdoor exposure levels to blue light, which comes from street lights and billboards.
The results of the study showed that those living in the areas most exposed to blue light had a 60% higher risk of developing bowel cancer, and that these lights were used in mobile phones.
Exposure to blue light outdoors also increases the risk of sleep disorders and obesity.
