Mobile phone services closed in Sindh cities to maintain law and order: PTA

The statement of PTA further stated that this step has been taken on the orders of the Federal Ministry of Interior to maintain law and order and security in Sindh.

On the other hand, the Chehlam of Karbala martyrs is being celebrated with devotion and respect. Like other parts of the country, processions are taking place in Karachi and other cities of Sindh, due to which the security is also on high alert.

Karachi’s MA Jinnah Road has been closed to all traffic, while dual riding of motorcycles has also been banned across the province. It has also been decided to monitor the processions from the air.

In Karachi, the main procession of Chehlam Imam Hussain will start from Nishtar Park and will end at Imambargah Hussainiya Iraniyan Kharadar.

In this regard, security is on high alert in the city while MA Jinnah Road is closed for all traffic from Gurmandir to Tower. All the streets of the procession routes have been blocked for traffic by placing containers and the traditional procession routes are being closely monitored by police and rangers.

Apart from this, among other cities of Sindh, mobile phones are available in Mirpurkhas from 7 am to 9 pm, in Shaheed Benazirabad from 10 am to 8 pm, in Larkana from 8 am to 11 pm and in Khairpur from 8 am to 8 pm. Services will remain closed. The Sindh government has imposed a ban on double riding of motorcycles across the province on the Chelum of Karbala martyrs. Dual riding of motorcycles and the use of drone cameras have been banned across Sindh, including Karachi and Hyderabad, and traffic police in Karachi have issued alternative routes for the main procession.

On the other hand, according to the police, at least two people have been killed and nine injured in an armed clash in the Golimar area of ​​Karachi, while several vehicles have been set ablaze by the aggressors.

Karachi Police Chief Javed Alam Odhu has confirmed to the local media that two people have lost their lives and nine people have been injured in the incident.

On the other hand, Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah, taking notice of the firing in Golimar, has ordered the immediate arrest of those involved in the ‘firing on the rally’.

He directed senior officials to personally ‘solve the issues’, saying that no one would be allowed to disturb the peace of the city.

After the incident, tension spread in the area while the local people also became panicked.

After the clash, the angry people set fire to several vehicles and motorcycles, including a bus or a truck.

DIG Irfan Baloch has taken notice of the firing incident and has sought a report from the officers of the concerned area.
