It’s day two of Free Agency 2023 and the signatures keep rolling in. The latest? Mo Wagner, who decided to extend the adventure to Magic.
The Wagner brothers will therefore continue to evolve under the same jersey.
As Adrian Wojnarowski ofESPNMo has chosen to sign a new contract with Orlando worth 16 million dollars over two years, which will allow him to stay with his little brother Franz until at least 2025.
Free agent F Mo Wagner is returning to the Orlando Magic on a two-year, $16 million deal, his agent Jason Glushon of @GlushonSM tells ESPN. Wagner averaged 10.5 points and 4.5 rebounds for the Magic last season.

If Franz Wagner is now clearly the better player of the two, Mo has been quite productive since joining Orlando in April 2021. His stats over the last two seasons? 9.7 points and 4.1 rebounds on average at 50% shooting in 17 minutes, all while coming off the bench behind starting pivot Wendell Carter Jr.. Figures that rose to 14 points and 7 rebounds (with 2 assists and 1 interception) per game this season when Wagner was in the five to compensate for the absence of WCJ, injured.
With this signing, the Magic therefore retains a piece that counts in its rotation, which demonstrates a desire to surf on the good dynamic demonstrated in the second part of the 2022-23 season. With the Wagner brothers in its ranks, the young phenomenon Paolo Banchero and the rest of the crew, Orlando will potentially be aiming for a place in the play-in tournament next year.
