M&M’s characters, it’s over! And the reason is surprising…

“Les M&M’s woke”

The second controversy was born at the beginning of January, with the launch of a limited edition package of M&M’s containing only the colors of the female characters (green, brown, purple). “The M&M’s woke are back”, did not hesitate to protest Tucker Carlson, one of the star presenters of the Fox News channel, known for the very conservative positions of several of its stars.

He added a layer of it, insinuating that “Green may have been a lesbian” and “Purple obese”. A year ago, Tucker Carlson had already attacked M&M’s for replacing Green’s white boots with sneakers, which made her less sexy. On the side of M&M’s, we are surprised to see so much controversy around the brand which did not expect “to upset the internet”, she indicated on Twitter on Monday.

“But now we understand”, added the confectioner, “even a candy’s shoes can spark polarization”. Or “It was the last thing we wanted, because our goal is to bring people together”, M&M’S said. “As a result, we have decided to put the characters on hiatus for an indefinite period of time”, the company announced. The animated creatures will be replaced, in the new campaigns, by the actress and comedian Maya Rudolph.

Human stupidity definitely seems to have no limits…
