Mumbai: The Oscar win for the documentary The Elephant Whisperers is a matter of pride for India. But Oscar-winning documentary maker Guneet Monga was not allowed to speak at the award-winning stage. Criticism is rising on social media that Monga lost a big moment of pride.
In the viral video, it is clear that Guneet Monga was speaking at the Oscars but was turning off the mic. Now another Oscar winner from India, MM Keeravani, has revealed something regarding this.
Keeravani revealed this while talking regarding her first Oscar win. “Another award winner was Guneet Monga. She didn’t get time to speak on stage, so they got really choked up and had to hospitalise her.” – said Keeravani.
Speaking to Bombay Times regarding the incident at the Oscars, Guneeth Monga said she was shocked when her mic was switched off. “I didn’t get a chance to give my Oscar speech. I had a look of shock on my face. I wanted to say that this is India’s first Oscar for an Indian production, which is a big deal. Not being able to say that even following coming this far made my heart skip a beat. I will be there once more and tell it”.
At the same time, Keeravani said that it was not a serious health problem. Guneet was dancing with her friends at the following party. It is reported that her health problem is not serious.
