The day before yesterday evening, at 4 p.m., the Mleiha region witnessed the launch of the Mleiha Winter Marathon in one of the most prominent community winter events within the framework of the institutional partnership.
The marathon started near Tawi Humaid with the participation of 77 competitors. This sporting event was attended by Ahmed Salem Awad Al Ketbi, member of the Advisory Council of the Emirate of Sharjah, Mohammed Sultan Al Khassouni, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Maliha Sports Club, and Mohammed Awad Al Ketbi, member of the Board of Directors of the Maliha Club, in addition to representatives of Participating parties, a large number of visitors, families and the media.
The organization of the sporting event was an initiative of the Municipal Council of the Maliha District, the Municipality of Maliha, the Maliha Sports Club, Bee’ah, the Sharjah Sports Council, and the Sharjah Police General Command.
The marathon attracted a large family gathering, as this sporting event constituted the largest family sporting event in the region. The marathon competition was open to individuals over the age of 16, with a remarkable start to the sporting event and a remarkable interaction and presence of families and sports fans.

At the finish line, the winners of the marathon were honored and crowned according to the categories of participants, and the winners received their awards in a festive atmosphere, as honoring the winners constituted inspiring moments that embody sporting achievements and motivate others to continue practicing physical activity.
