Salvador Pérez was among the nine batters selected by Mike Matheny for the duel between Kansas City Royals and the Guardians of Cleveland at Progressive Field. The man from Carabobo was lined up in the catcher’s office as the third batter.

The monarchs beat the cast of Ohio seven runs to one and “Salvy” is one of the architects of this beating. The Venezuelan has a perfect 4-4 performance and, in the fourth episode, he received a strong pitch outside and to the left, which he managed to hit to get it out of the park in left field and give his team the sixth run.

Pérez thus reaches 23 homers in the season and 1,274 hits in his career, a figure with which he surpasses Billy Butler as the eighth Royals player with the most hits in his career in the Major Leagues.
