Gleyber Torres hit the fence twice in the same inning, beating the New York Yankees to the Pittsburgh Pirates at Yankee Stadium. At the bottom of the eighth leg, the Bombers’ waiter unfurled his first rocket of the night.
First, he punished his countryman Miguel Yajure, with a hit to the opposite band. The connection sped across the right-field porch to extend the Yankees’ lead.

Later in the same inning, he hit another long drive, this time to left field to seal the rout of the Mulos. With these two homers, Gleyber Torres equals the mark of Alex Rodríguez, who had been the last Bombers slugger to hit two homers in the same inning.
