MLB All-Star Game: Who are the six Venezuelans selected?

Las Big leagues (MLB) announced on Monday, July 8, the list of Latin Americans who will participate in the 94th edition of the All-Star Game.

The game will take place on July 16, 2024 at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas (United States), home of the Texas Rangers.

The list is made up of 23 Latin players, six of whom are Venezuelan. Two of the chosen Venezuelans will play as starters, while the other four will be substitutes.

Six Venezuelans in the 2024 All-Star Game

MLB named Venezuelans José Altuve, of the Houston Astros, and William Contreras, of the Milwaukee Brewers, as starters in the All-Star Game.

The Creoles who will participate in the game as substitutes are Salvador Pérez, Kansas City; Ranger Suárez, Philadelphia Phillies; Robert Suárez, San Diego Padres; and Luis Arráez, San Diego Padres.

Venezuelans in the 2023 All-Star Game

For the 2023 edition, five Venezuelans were selected to participate in the All-Star Game. This event took place on July 11 in Seattle, United States.

Baseball player Salvador Pérez was part of the American League team for the 2023 All-Star Game. Pablo Pérez, of the Minnesota Twins, also participated on the same team.

While on the National League team, the Creoles who played as starters were Ronald Acuña Jr., Luiz Arráez, and Orlando Arcia.

For his part, Venezuelan baseball player Elías Díaz was recognized with the 2023 Ted Williams Most Valuable Player trophy.
