Aaron Judge homered in his fourth straight game to move closer to the 50-homer mark in the New York Yankees’ 3-0 victory over the Colorado Rockies on Friday night.
Judge, who has hit five home runs in his last four outings, will reach the 50-homer mark for the third time in his career in his next bomb, as he now has 49.
If he keeps up the pace, he will finish the season with 61 home runs, one shy of his career-high of 62, set in 2022.
Limited to four home runs in his first 27 games of the season, Judge has found his feet since late April and has now hit 45 home runs in 100 games.
Giancarlo Stanton also homered in New York’s win for the second straight game. His 22nd home run of the season gave the Yankees the lead in the fourth inning.
With the Yankees leading 2-0 in the sixth inning, Judge sent Kyle Freeland’s pitch 388 feet to left to extend his team’s lead.
This is the second time this season that Judge has hit the long ball in four straight games. He also did so between May 22 and May 25.
On the mound for New York, starter Carlos Rodon limited the Rockies to four hits in six innings, while striking out five batters. Freeland allowed five hits and three runs in six and two-thirds innings.
On Saturday, the Yankees will try to extend their winning streak to four games in Game 2 of the series against the Rockies.

Pete Crow-Armstrong wowed the crowd with an inside homer in the Chicago Cubs’ 6-3 win over the Miami Marlins.
In the top of the third inning, Crow-Armstrong hit a ball just out of the right fielder’s reach. Crow-Armstrong then attacked the plate and just beat the throw to score a diving infield homer.
Crow-Armstrong took just 14.8 seconds to complete the lap of the trails. According to Bleacher Reportit would be the fastest race this season to go around the trails.
Ian Happ and Miguel Amaya also hit the long ball in the Cubs’ victory, though not inside the stadium.
Otto Lopez hit a home run for the Marlins and walked a single.
